Newest News First!

2011-07-21 - New courses - Dance sessions for mums and kids up to age three. Friday mornings. Details on the programme page. Also: new women's dance class, monthly. Details here.

Also, we have added a Links page to the site, assembling all the links we reference(and a few others) on one convenient page. It's been up since the previous update, but I forgot to mention it here.

2011-07-05 - Save our Occasional Childcare Programme! State government funding cuts threaten occasional childcare provision at Nicholson Street and 119 other centres across the state. For more information, please see our Children page.

2011-07-05 - Updated at last! - We have had... a bit of a rough patch. Due to an electrical fault in our building, our computers have all died. They are in the process of being replaced, but in the meantime we lost the last one over the past weekend. We're also, and not inconsequently, still without an internet connection, which means that our e-mail address is still not being monitored. PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO CONTACT US BY E-MAIL UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!

To add to the confusion, it has not been possible to update our website for the past year as our other means of updating was also struck by gremlins. That, at least, has now been rectified and our new programme (Semester 2, 2011) is now on-line and can be downloaded as a PDF.

Because we have lost our computers, and much of our data, we have not been able to update the electronic versions of forms or some publications. Previous versions of forms (such as our enrolment forms) remain valid, they just have the wrong date printed on them. The content of the forms have not otherwise changed.

2010-06-30 - Ongoing Internet Woes - Nicholson Street is still without internet access, which means that until further notice we cannot be contacted by e-mail. The e-mail address at the top of the page will be correct when we're back on-line, but until then it is not being monitored. We apologise for the inconvenience, but you are welcome to contact us by phone, letter or by dropping in.

2010-06-30 - Children - Our website now has a new page dedicated to our children's programmes, the core of which are our Occasional Childcare and 3 Year Old Activity Group for pre-kinder kids, and the Kid's Art class for 5 to 12 year-olds.

Feedback - We're looking for your feedback: Are there any classes/workshops or events you'd like to see Nichiolson Street Community House present? Please e-mail us with your suggestions!

Please include your name, address and a contact number in your e-mail in case we need to contact you about your suggestion, and don't forget to let us know if you'd like to be put on our mailing list.

Occasional Childcare: Parents are encouraged to visit our Centre prior to enrolling their children. Please contact the Office to arrange an appointment. This service is very heavily booked. Parents MUST call well in advance to arrange a place. Children who cannot be accommodated at the time will be placed on a waiting list.
